I want to determine overflow effects in a water system. I have a dam that fills up (at constant inflow) and at some point the there is an open channel that will divert water to another dam. If I just add a channel between 2 dams, the one dam fills up to the point of the channel and then instantaneously the second dam is just suddenly full, irrespective of simulation interval times. What is the best way to simulate this type of overflow scenario between 2 dams with an channel?
