Lola CURIEN
Hello, I have only been working on the ventsim software for a few months. Right now I'm modeling a tunnel. I would like to know if it is possible to model a mountain above the galleries. I have the altitude difference between the different points of the gallery and the top of the mountain. This would allow me to make a more accurate simulation of the temperature in the gallery. In thanking you, CURIEN Lola
Martin Griffith
Hi, if you have a reference graphic for the surface, you can select all your airways, go to Tools | Filter | Calculate VRT and this will estimate the VRT based on the distance to the surface graphic. Lola CURIEN
Hello, thank you for your answer. However, I tried your advice and I received the error message below. I think it has something to do with my Ventsim model which was originally a DXF. But I don't understand the error message. Thanking you in advance for your answer
Fred_K
Hi Lola, did you load in the reference surface or have it visible? I have tried the same thing (Calculate VRT). With the Coal Mine example file it works, as long as the surface is shown on the screen. If the surface is not shown, either because it's not loaded into Ventsim or simply not made visible - this is what the error message is telling you - it gives the same errors that you have shown. Best regards, Fred
Martin Griffith
Thanks Fred. Correct, it will only work on the visible surfaces. But they also must be surfaces and not contour lines. If you have contour lines, then you can convert them to a surface using Tools | Create Surface.
