  1. Hi… I would just like to bring to your attention a problem that I have picked up. I have recently attempted to use the “Calculate VRT” tool – Please refer to the attached model. As you can see I have a relatively complex overlying strata over a large number of airways (±70 000). These represent future planning of a bord and pillar mine. Due to the shape of the strata it is very important to get this process right (as opposed to a relatively flat surface). While I haven’t specific timed this process, I can tell you it takes in excess of 2 hours to perform this function. To be clear though, I should mention I have a high end i9 Processor (18 core / 36 thread) with 88GB of RAM (so the PC is capable). The attached screenshot shows how the PC performed. As you can only one thread is used and it is running at full capacity. While I accept that this is a big task to perform, I really think the time to perform this task is excessive. Is there anything that can be done to improve the speed of this process? Something like multi-threading or improved process? Future Airways - Demo.vsm
  2. I suppose, like perhaps several other users, I was initially reluctant to make use of the New Edit Box that has been created. However, I have now “forced” myself to make use of it and have since become accustomed to it. I would like to provide the following feedback and recommendations: · In general, I think the new edit box works very well. · It does take a while to get used to, due to the tabular fashion in which it is structured. This is probably only because one did not find something where it used to be. · Functionally it is good and seems to work very well. · I know that there was an issue with regards to the Z coordinate that has since been corrected (on a partial release). I am not sure if all users have received this befit yet. It will probably happen soon with whatever new update is released. Recommendations: · The one thing that I seriously miss is the old red “X” (i.e. reset button). This was great when you wanted reset to default Resistances, Friction Factors, Shock X, Fans, Heat, Explosives and so on. Please bring this feature back. Not having it changes what was once a one-click function into 2 or 3 steps
  3. Florian... This could just be a layer issue (similar to the one I experienced). I have found with older models the problem normally comes down to custom airway types or custom layers that were previously created. I would suggest that the user attempt to first create a blank model and then attempt to copy and paste all the airways into the new model using the Paste Airways and not the Merge Presets option. Hope this helps
  4. Very nice feature Martin. I tested a little and think it would be value adding if you could include the following: At the Source include Fixed Flows (restrictive or otherwise). This will be handy when adjusting multiple points throughout a mine until such point as it is time to convert to regulators or resistances. At the Goal, I would like the target list to be expanded to other useful parameters we may target. I have particular need for airway velocity (a common goal in SA Coal being 1.5m/s in design). Other handy items would include getting flammable or noxious gas levels down to below a legal requirement. Shane
