Hi Ivan,
Live event are currently restricted apart for Canada and Australia where our team members can travel.
But we can organise online training anytime. Where are you based?

Hi,
This is a bit complicated as, Ventsim typically doesnt simulate flow in dead ends, even when using a duct, the simulation assume that past the end of the duct, there is no airflow.
However there is a few way you can try. It might depends on the application, what are you trying to achieve: include all the fans in the model or simulating the airflow in the dead end?
-
Hi Calen,
Thank you for leting us know, we will see if it is possible to do it automatically.

It would depend whether the fan has a VFD installed or not. If the fan doesnt have a VFD, I wouldnt recommend changing the fan speed unless trying to display the need for VFD.
-
Hi Calen, thank you for the notice, we will try to fix it in the next version.

I am guessing you are trying to add it in Pumpsim?
I woud recommned asking the manufacturer for a pump curve. Else we can approximate it with the data available.

Hi,
Convert any applies to 3D faces.
The correct option here would to use convert floor line. However, you should remove the roof lines until after it is done.
Could you show us what the result is when using convert floor lines?
Also, if possible, we always recommend to use centrelines to create the model which should be available from software which created the floor lines.

Thank you for the feedback, we will try to add a webinar on the topic.

Sorry to hear, try Daniel Sepulveda <Daniel.Sepulveda@howden.com>.

Apologies for the delay, I missed your previous post.
You should contact Thiago Veiga: thiago.veiga@howden.com. I have also infromed him of you request.

The best would be to contact your local Howden agent. Which country are from? I will be able to point you to the right person.

Thank you everyone for attending our first webinar.
If you missed it, watch it at: https://ventsim.com/webinars/
The Q&A is attached.

Hi Fred,
It is definitely a good start. We can also arrange one on one online training if you want. Those trainings can be tailored to your needs. To do so, please contact ventsim@howden.com.
We will have a free webinar next week on Ventsim 5.4, our recently released new version. A lot of the topics may be advanced but I am sure there will be interresting features for you.

The new Advanced Message Box, allows to show multiple data in the same place and to perform basic math on this information. For exemple the below box shows the maximum velocity in the decline, the minimum velocity, the average air flow and the maximum wet bulb temperature.
To add the exemple above, add a text box anywhere and:
1. Click the “advanced Tab
2. Select the favourite you want to display or … to create one
3. Select the type of data (min, max, sum, avg)
4. Go back to text message and add text around the data.
Let us know if you have trouble adding those message boxes.

Hi,
The Ventsim radon simulation follows the radon calculation from Mc Pherson which doesnt consider the type amount of progeny.
However it should be possible, calculating the decay from Radon to Po218, etc based on their respective half life. Mc Pherson's book indicate it would be possible but doesnt state the exact equations.
What would be the use for it?
-
Maybe, do you have any documentation/calculation on that?
-
Possibly. Which equation would you use for that?
-
That is something we can work on. Would you use the emanation rate from exposed surface J (pCi/m2s) or emanating powers B (pCi/m3s)? Or both?
-
G'day Jordan,
The feature is quite gone, but you ll have to click on the color wheel to display the data of the tab you are in:
The reason for the change is that you often just want to turn off and on layers without changing the model.
Does it brings back quality of life?
The recirculation one, we tried here to duplicate it without success, could you send a model?

Hi, sorry for the delay, use the custom junction option. Note that if you have the flow at which this loss occur, you should try to use a resistance instead.
