Customer
Is there a way to simulate diffusion ducting on ventsim? I'm trying to simulate a 600ft long, 20in diameter flexible duct, with 2in holes on either side of the duct, spaced about 3' apart. The duct is also capped at the end. One way I could think of is by setting the porosity of the duct equivalent to what it would be with the holes, and setting the end of the ducting as a “closed end”. It seemed to work as the airflow in the ducting made sense, but the airflow in the drift didn’t match up. If this doesn’t work, is there a different way you can suggest to do that? Florian Michelin
The porosity method should work, but you may need to change the leakage interval setting when you build the duct to allow leakage from the duct more often along the length. You could change this to every 3ft for example although this would be a very fine.
