Florian Michelin Posted December 21, 2018 Report Share Posted December 21, 2018 Hi, The Collar TP is the total pressure required for the mine to overcome resistance below the collar (inlet) of the fan. This pressure excludes the lost fan exit velocity pressure and fan shock/resistance losses. In many way it is similar to FAN STATIC PRESSURE if the fan was a similar size to the shaft (and therefore did not change velocity pressure), and had negligible additional resistance shock losses. For example, if the Collar Total Pressure in Ventsim is 1000 Pa, and the fan is a similar size to the shaft, then the fan will need to deliver at least 1000 Pa of Fan Static Pressure + Above Collar fan losses (such as bends or surface duct). The Fan Total Pressure is the Fan Static Pressure + Velocity Pressure exited from the fan. Florian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
