chin min
Hello pumpsim team.. I would like to add heat exchangerin the simulation, could you assist how to add that, Your assistance greatly appreciated,
Martin Griffith
Hi! Do you want to simulate heat flow in the pipes? Or do you want to simulate the resistance to flow caused by a heat exchanger?
chin min
Hello Martin, Yes, I want to simulate the resistance to flow caused by a heat exchanger, could you assist how to add that.
Martin Griffith
What do you know about the heat exchanger? Do you have a specification document? It might tell you what the expected loss from the exchanger is. Otherwise, we can perhaps make guesses from the geometry of it.
chin min
Sorry for not explaining clearly. There are many heat exchangers on the pipeline, and the pressure loss of the heat exchanger is currently known. Assuming the pressure loss of the heat exchanger is 0.5bar, how can I simulate the pressure loss of the heat exchanger to find the actual pipeline pressure. In the simulation, because the pressure loss of the heat exchanger was not set, the pump flow rate was too large and the curve deviated from the BEP point. Please refer to the attachment file. By the way, I tried to use AUTOMATIC VALVE to set the pressure loss, but it didn't seem feasible. Your assistance greatly appreciated, 0308.psm
chin min
Can anyone answer my question?
Florian Michelin
Hi, sorry for the delay, use the custom junction option. Note that if you have the flow at which this loss occur, you should try to use a resistance instead.
