Andre Broodryk
When building vent ducts in a drive, going to "tools/vent duct", the diameter, friction, leakage etc. can be chosen before building the duct, but then after the duct has been constructed, it takes on the drive linked to the duct's properties in terms of the Air type, primary and secondary layer. Having different air types for, say declines, return air drives, fresh air drives, development and vent bags then require you to unselect everything, re-select the vent bag, edit airways, edit duct, and change the air type after. Would it be beneficial/possible to add a drop down box inside the duct drawing window, while initially choosing the diameter, leakage, offset etc. to also assign the air type before placing the duct on the selected drive? Martin Griffith
Hi Andre, Thank you for the feedback. In the current version of Ventsim 5.0, from the Vent Duct form, you are able to specify the Air Type and access the Air Type Presets. The option is there alongside the options for Leakage Porosity and Duct Heat Transfer. Currently, you can't set the Primary or Secondary Layer from the Vent Duct form, these have to be changed after. Adding in the options to change the Layer from the Vent Duct is something we will consider adding in soon. You may be already aware of this, but after building a duct over several airways, the new ducts are grouped together. This means that if you click on a duct with the Select tool, it should select the whole duct group at once. You can then open the Edit Form and change the Layer on all the ducts at once. Andre Broodryk
Thanks Martin. We still have Ver.4.8 installed so it's good to know that the functionality has been added to Ver. 5.
